THE THIEF OF BAGDAD, his biggest adventure, costing $2 million, with a long production time, was eagerly anticipated by the public. It is based on a popular story from the Tales of the Arabian Nights, invoking elaborate sets, and lavish costumes. It was critically acclaimed, and made the “Top Ten List” of the New York Times.
